Curious about the changes in the new CA Math Framework? Have questions about how these changes might impact instruction and student learning experiences? 

Please join us at our September 14 event presenting special guest speaker, Kyndall Brown. Kyndall is the Executive Director of the California Math Project and author of “Choosing to See” a book focusing on equity in the math classroom. During the adoption hearing of the new framework, Kyndall presented on access and equity within the math classroom. Additionally, he highlighted aspects of the new framework that focus on “how” programs need to shift to a more equity and asset-based approach to instruction.  

Pre-registration is required.

The event will run from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

5:00-6:00 

  • Make and Take event focusing on tasks that you can take back to your classroom and use with students the next day.
  • Grade level tasks and activities will be available for registered participants to engage with and “take away”.
  • Light snacks will be provided for sampling and enjoying.

6:00-7:00

  • Speaker Kyndall Brown:  Changes and shifts to the new math framework.
  • Q and A: An opportunity for participants to engage in a lively discussion about the new math framework and what it means for students and educators in California.
