At the UC Davis Math Project organized a Summer Institute that was filled with useful content, and tons of giveaways. During the institute we:

  • gave away books and materials to support classrooms and instructional practices

  • provided participants with free math manipulatives to take back to their classrooms.

  • held raffles for sets of wipeboards, gift certificates and complete grade level kits from Hand-2-Mind.

  • organized afternoon sessions in which participants selected sessions based on their own interests.

Our summer institute was geared towards understanding the additions to the new framework and finding ways to effectively use current adoptions to meet the needs of all students.

Our 2025 Summer Institute focused on working with you and your colleagues to find ways to use your current adoption to provide relevant, engaging, and successful instruction.  The emphasis was on practical and fun ways to provide math instruction. We supported teachers as they:

  • reviewed aspects of the 2023 Mathematics Framework highlighting those sections that directly relate to instruction and materials.

  • investigate current adoptions for alignment to the framework's instructional expectations.

  • analyzed ways to “bridge the gap” between what is available and what is best for student academic achievement and mathematical success.
